JQuery Solar System

This little demo was built in a single afternoon to give a bit of press to jQuery and showcase what could be done with JavaScript. The rotator took several optimization factors into mind such as caching the initial DOM query and not using any JavaScript framework overhead for any of the animation frames (this proved to be too slow).

Digg caught onto the project and it received a good bit of hype all around the web. It also led to Mozilla requesting to use the rotator in their World Firefox Day project.

Rotator.js - Like the solar system but with a Z-axis

Rotator.js adds the z-axis to the rotator allowing for full-3D simulation of objects with JavaScript. Digg caught this one as well giving over 800 diggs
